2009 is fast approaching and I can' wait to hear what surprises are in the box set. I'm gonna speculate on tracks that may or may not exist since I have no clue what so ever but they are educational guesses.

1. Freddie studio vocal version of "Modern Times Rock and Roll"

2. Freddie studio take of "39"

3. Freddie take of "Rock it(Prime Jive)"

I guess that would be the type of material they'll put on it along with songs like Face iot along with songs like Robbery, My Secret Fantasy. I bet Freddie did a take of "I'm in LOve ith my car" too. I would imagine all Queen songs sung by Roger and Brian are fair game to have Freddie demos.

The same for "Sheer Heart Attack", "Action This Day", "Days Of Our Lives", "Innuendo" or "A Kind Of Magic" sung by Roger, and "Keep Yourself Alive", "Now I'm Here", "Tie Your Mother Down", "Fat Bottomed Girls", "It's Late", "Dragon Attack" etc...) by Brian.

Wish I could hear Brian sing "Dear Friends." I wonder if there was ever a demo of him singing it...

Hi all

There are 'working tracks' (raw versions) written by Roger & Brian like 'Hitman', 'Radio ga ga' etc.. Finnaly sung by Freddie. But these working tracks have just 'guide' vocal sunged by Brian orr Roger. Tie Your Mother Down' with Brian on vocal is JUST a guide to Freddie how Brian wants him to sing it. Not a 'real' demo.
But, there might be real demo with Freddie on vocal. Early take etc.
Many tracks are recorded like this.
Bacicly started with bass & drums. Later guitar etc.. than guide vocals..... changeings etc...
Many tapes are in the arcive like this.
'Master slaves' to use for Freddie to do the FINAL vocal for a track.
But ofcourse, many demos are made out, but demos are offen results of all the studio work.
The band made out 15-20 pre-works,raw versions and demos of songs, and than choise 10-12which they made out for the album.
There is a finnich tracks made out for THE WORKS called "Let Me In Your Heart Again". This track IS finish, but left out for some reason.
Greg Brooks told me this at 2006 convention.
(The track IS on Anita Dobson's album)

This happen sometimes, so a box from the arcive is REALLY of interest. I've been waiting foe years...

I hate to say this, but I wouldn't get too excited about a 2009 release date. That was a speculative date, probably based on the age of Roger and Brian, the inactivity of Queen, the lifespan of the musical, the sales projections of Greatest Hits and other sundry bits and bobs.
With QPR an active entity, I doubt the career capping boxset is going to happen for a while yet. There will be a QPR album next year, and probably a 2007/2008 tour. If it all goes well, I'd give the QPR machine another 5 years, and the Queen boxsets after that.

I think we will eventually see one but many of us will be quite elderly by the time it's released.

I've always been curious about The Show Must Go On. Brian reckons he did most of his guide vocal in falsetto because the song was too high for him. That'd be interesting to hear.

I think half the hold-up with a Queen boxset is that they're kinda selective in releasing dodgy things to people. Fuck, in their position, I wouldn't release anything of my stuff because none of it is ever finished up!

I really think that, as long as it's HALF as good as the Beatles anthology, then it'd be worth a long wait. A long format documentary would be awesome to see as well, but they probably wouldn't do that.

That would explain Brian's hair getting thinner. All that polonium missing...the KGB-spy was probably just a test ;-P
