Oh, no! It must have been balancing too many tasks - vocal, piano and maestro guitar but Brian makes a tots of the Save Me solo here - quick, delete this....!

Thats a bit of a shame. I see it as Freddie's best performance of the song; funny it should go hand in hand with one of Brian's dodgiest!

Particularly when Fred sings the final "I'm naked and I'm far...." there is a squeaky sound barely audible. Is that what you mean by pitch shifter? I like the performance though.

Freddie's performance is nothing short of spectacular. Yes, the solo is a bit dodgy, but not too bad. Excellent!!!

i hope this "not so perfect" solo isn´t one of the reasons why this great performance is not release officialy.

i always wondered where this micky mouse voice comes from. i recorded this from german tv in the early 80s and it was much more audible in that version of the queen special.

Excellent song (one of my all-time faves), brilliant Fred, great band performance except for that not-so-glorious guitar solo ... Reminds me of that South American concert (can't remember which) where Brian completely fucked up his solo in Somebody to love ... He's still the best though.
