Hello !!

Freddie Mercury`s Hofner guitar on auction.

If you consider this is the right price go ahead, everybody can do what they want with their money. I wouldn't buy anything from these eil guys since I regard them to be just mercenaries. If I had any extra money so as to be able to buy this kind of memorabilia , I might do it ,but in order to donate the money to some kind of benefit auction such as the ones which have been made at eBay, but since right now I do not have the money and I am not willing to buy anything now...I remember when they offered a Freddie Mercury promo on sale at about 75 pounds (sterling) when the fair cost would be no more than 15 pounds. As regards a ‘fair cost’ I mean the one asked for in othe sites offering the same kind of items which is lower .On the other side the sipping cost for their items is really outrageous , 3-4 times higher than the normal one. Some time ago I wanted to trade some Mexican singles with them, and they tried to get them at a cost of 1-2 pounds, so that eventually they could re-sell them at an average price of 15-20 pounds each. This might be regarded as an unimportant incident due to the low value of the transaction , but if this happened for some cheap stuff, what might be expected to happen for something which is even “worthier”. I let them know I did not agree so in the end there was no trading at all. I am not against sellers in general trying to make any business with this kind of items, but I am against people being abused by these guys who try to exploit the 'sentimental' cost of a certain item, as it is in this case. This matter gets a bit complicated due to the fact it is a ‘unique’ item , (a guitar belonged to Freddie) how many more like this there will be out there?, that’s why the eil guy exaggerate when asking an outrageous amount of money for it, no doubt there will be someone willing to pay that much, there is always some fan willing whatever is necessary to get his collection completed, anyway, it’s just my opinion.

Regards,
Francisco

¡Hola!

Saludos mil.
Francisco

eil.com have very high prices. On the other hand, they often offer extremely rare items. This guitar (originally sold in Bonhams in late 90's) is one of them and the price is probably right.

I was just sad to see them sell (IMO) fake autographs. They used to be a very reliable seller.

They're fake, and you know it. It up for them to prove their merchandise is genuine, not for you to prove the contrary. You're doing the collecting world a service by pointing out the fakes. Like I said before, stand firm!

Hey Francisco, how is that Mexico soundcheck doing? Months ago you said you would upload the files from your tape. We haven't forgotten.

Jackie is a fucking moron. She wouldn't know a real one from a fake if the latter was printed with a dot-matrix and photocopied from a third generation copy.

Saul Watson - yes, I think that's the guy who asked me about some autographs. It's his problem that he trusts more Jacky than me :-) I don't really care that much if they sell fakes.

Nowadays the only places to get 100% genuine autographs are Sotheby's, Christie's and Bonham's.

That`s precisely what I mean, Eil.com are merecenaries.

They sell whatever items in order to get as much money as possible, regardless of their authenticity.

In case they are original the prices are outrageous.

Again people are free to get what they want wherever they want to.
