Was the tracklisting that big of a concern to most fans? Were people afraid of a 30 minute edit?

Well, the release date is October 8th according to this (Dutch) site: http://www.cdplus.nl/shop5/86762100_QUEEN-QUEEN-LIVE-IN-MONTREAL-5034504964471-.htm

What a disappointment... Or actually not, as disappointment would require at least some degree of surprise... This is unsurprising on so many levels.

The strange thing is that the DVD is being released through Eagle and not Parolophone. The CD will be released through Parlophone though.

I don't mean to sound overtly pessimistic, but couldn't that be just to put a "cheap re-release" label on the package, and try to avoid any criticism avoid putting out virtually the same dvd which has already been released years ago?

If it was released on the usual label, they would actually be expected to put on a second disc of extras on the release, but through the Eagle label they are under no such "obligation".

I'm pretty sure there will be a 2nd disc as they said extras are to be confirmed.

They've announced a lot of things in the past few years... I wouldn't count on getting anything new as extra. :/

Oh well, at least I won't be disappointed when the release date is here. I hope everyone else can say the same.

Crap. Well, there went my hopes for this being a fully-restored show from the better night, with parts of the other being on a second disk complete with extras.

I will pass on this one unless the extras happen to include Hammy '79, Argentina '81, or some other newly-released gem.

Where's the 'Now I'm Here' reprise after 'Dragon Attack'?

(sorry, couldn't help being sarcastic;-))

Folks, I urge you to give QPL the benefit of the doubt. Sure it's a disappointment, but believe it or not the people upstairs have been in the music business for several years now (spot the irony time). They are very well aware of the fact that people wouldn't buy the same DVD for the third time so it will have some redeeming extras. I believe (or rather I hope) that there WILL be a second disc of extras and most of them will be more than enough to keep you occupied for a good weekend. In addition I think that the audio will be a brand-new 5.1 mix and the video will probably be high definition.

My point is this. Let's keep the criticisms until October 9th, shall we?

I'm as mad as HELL, and I'm not going to take this anymore!

Sort of agreed, with the proviso that I'm still going to express my feelings (good or bad) when the content is confirmed.

DOTL wasn't played either night. I wonder why 'Flash' and 'The Hero' aren't there, though.

Is that so? Then how do you explain all the 'Greatest Hits' packages?....

1981 - Greatest Hits
1991 - Greatest Hits II
1992 - Classic Queen (U.S.'s "GH2")
1992 - Greatest Hits (US release)
1995? - Greatest Hits I + II (Gold set)
1997 - Queen Rocks (not GH, but a compilation)
199x - Platinum Collection (I, II, III)
2004? - Greatest Hits We Will Rock You edition
2006? - Stone Cold Classics

Not sure on all the dates, but you get my drift. They DO repackage shit. I have to admit, the WWRY edition and SCC suck ass. There are errors in the booklet and a total lack of photos. Pure shit.

Their last few releases have sucked. The ROTC dvd really had no extras. The cover 'art' was horrible. Lets face it, their creativity died with Freddie.

And now they are releasing Montreal 1981 for the 3rd time on DVD!!! What the hell are they thinking? What about Hammy 1975 or 1979? What about Houston 77 on cd? What about any of the 1981 South American concerts? What about Rio? I'm tired of all these damn 1981/1982 and 1986 concerts. I can't believe they didn't record any of the American dates last year. Geez!
