Chapter 1: Freddie Mercury

Freddie closed his eyes, and focused. He was sitting on the soft grass, cross legged, with his palms resting on his lap outward. Softly he sang a short melody and thought of only one thing: Food. Soon, little mushroom like plants and large bulbous vines sprung upwards from the ground around him. Taking a flask from his backpack, he grabbed the bulbous vine and squeezed it’s bulbous tip into the flask, and out sprang clear fresh water. And he drank deeply from the flask and exclaimed to himself, “Now that is natural spring water!”. The water was as cold as ice, and fresher, and purer than any water he drank in his former life. “Now, if I could only conjure up an Automobile, ” he muttered half jokingly. “A Rolls Royce of course.”

It was a beautiful day. The sun was shining, but it wasn’t hot, or muggy. The wind blew gently, creating a nice cool breeze. Freddie collected some of the mushrooms and put them on his plate. Popping a few into his mouth, he closed his eyes, and chewed. They tasted like juicy steak and mozzarella cheese. It was delicious. Freddie found himself famished, and began eating heartily of his meal, popping all the mushrooms he could find into his mouth. When he was finished, Freddie got up and continued his walk through the forest.

Carrying only a backpack of basic supplies, and a long wooden staff, Freddie journeyed straight into the heart of the Great Black Forest. He walked along an ancient road that wanderers called, “Dry River” for the network resembled a vast river that stretched and sprawled throughout the heart of the Land. After a few hours of comfortable walking, Freddie saw ahead a carcass of an animal. Peering closer, he saw that it was a large dog. And surrounding the carcass were packs of equally large wild dogs. They noticed Freddie approaching, and one dog looked warily at him and growled, “Beware human, thou shalt bring no evil here. Thy kind has done enough evil unto today.” The other dogs barked in agreement and began to circle towards Freddie in a threatening manner, baring fangs, and growling.

Freddie raised his hands in gesture of friendship, and began to sing. He recalled and sang one of his songs of his former life. “Dear Friends”. And as he sang the words with the sweet intonation of his voice, a flame of multi-colors burst from his staff, and covered the entire pack of dogs. The melody and beauty of the song calmed the dogs under it’s powerful spell, and peace was restored onto their feral minds. When the dogs were docile, Freddie crouched down besides the dead dog. It was their leader bearing a thick coat of ancient white and gray fur. But it had a deep wound in it’s chest where blood flowed. Singing softly, Freddie created a flame and the fire blazed, engulfing the dead carcass quickly into ashes.

“A Singer!”, one of the dogs barked. “I thank thee for purifying our Lord. Now, our enemy cannot violate the flesh our King.”

“Thou art a good and upright Singer, unlike the evil one that lurks in the forest. Beware of his song, Friend!”

Singers were humans that had the ability to channel song into power. “Yes, may thy King rest in peace, and may thy fangs never break, proud warriors!”, Freddie said softly. And he bowed to the dogs who howled in return.

Dogs in this land were given the power of Speech much like humans, as a reward for their service in their former lives as faithful loving companions of needy humans. Originally, dogs were cursed due to their former existence as evil hounds of hell in another dimension, and sent to earth to pay for their sins, silenced and forbidden to speak, and to serve mankind with love and devotion. And the dogs that died after their service, came here. To live out their lives as intelligent animals, capable of speech.

Without looking back, Freddie continued on, in his journey into the Black forest, thinking, “I was always more of a cat person myself. I miss my Kitties.”

Really? Thanks! I didn't spend too much time. Like around an hour and a half. Thanks for your kind words! :)

I don't feel inspired though to continue. :(

Fantasy stories are not really my thing.

But anyone can continue if they wish. or I'll continue if I feel inspired. I had this whole plot too..oh well.

Chapter 3: Mary Austin

Mary Austin looked exactly as Freddie remembered many years ago when the shy couple first met. He, a dashing swarthy foreigner, and she, a beautiful young blonde girl, and both of them were too shy to say hello for many months until one day, Freddie mustered the courage to ask her out. And they made each other happy for many years. Their relationship maybe have ended in tears, but they never stopped being in love until the day Freddie died.

Freddie remembered everything of his former life. The memories came rushing back to him. And for a brief second, he wasn't sure whether he was dreaming, or whether Mary was really standing in front of him.

It was no dream. She was real but she was encased in a crystal tomb, frozen under Michael's spell. Freddie closed his eyes and searched his feelings. He sought the passion and emotion that was the power of Singing. The same power that captured the hearts of millions whenever Freddie sang in his former life. Live Aid. Wembley. Countless concerts. Countless fans who fell under his musical spell. Even back in his former life, his music had the power to deeply affect people's lives. It was magic.

Freddie sought that same magic, to release Mary from Michael powerful spell. Phantom instruments appeared and music could be heard. And Freddie began to sing the words,

"Love of my life, you've hurt me..."
"You've broken my heart, and now you leave me"

He sang it with all of his heart and poured his emotions into the song. Slowly the song had an effect on the crystal. It began to crack, and peel, and piece by piece, it was becoming undone.

"Back hurry back, please bring it back home to me"

"Because you don't know, what it means to me"

"Love of my life, Love of my life, Oooh, Oooh, Yeaahh!"

Freddie sang the last line with such heartfelt emotion that the crystal finally cracked, and shattered, freeing Mary.

Mary awoke, and appeared confused.

Freddie went to her, and held her. Mary looked into Freddie's eyes as though she couldn't believe it.

"Freddie? Is that you? Are you the man?"

"Yes it's me Mary. I have freed you. What man?"

"The man. The one who sang to me. I was in my room, and I heard this song. And it came from my full length mirror. It kept singing, "Man in the Mirror"

"And the song was so strange. It told me to come into the mirror. At first, I thought I was it was some joke. But then the mirror pulled me in! And I entered the mirror!"

Freddie listened carefully to every word, but he couldn't concentrate. Mary Austin, his love was in front of him, alive. It was the happiest moment he felt in a very long time.

He held her, and said, "Oh Mary! I have missed you so much." He held her for some time, just glad to have her back in his life. For a second, he found himself thankful that Michael bought Mary back to him. He didn't know how it was done, or why. He didn't care. He was happy.

"Oh Mary, I have so much to explain. But quick, we must get out of here. This place isn't safe."

And Freddie grabbed Mary's hand and led her out of Michael's castle.

After they left, a shadowy mist appeared and became corporal. It was Michael Jackson. He saw everything that transpired and smiled.

"Yes Friend. It isn't safe for you. Not anymore, for you have unwittingly fallen into my trap."

And with that, Michael laughed, and danced with glee.

Chapter 4: You and I

Mary Austin’s eyes were still closed shut, and she was dying to open them. Freddie had made Mary close them because he wanted to surprise her. It was about 7pm, and the air was still warm, and a nice breeze blew from the ocean.

“Ok, Mary, you can open them.”

Mary opened her eyes, and her face soon broke into a smile. Everything was perfectly arranged, in typical Freddie style. Before her was a lovely table set for two, complete with a vase full of roses, several candles, a basket full of tantalizing warm garlic bread, beautiful plates, and cutlery, and in the center, a sumptuous looking turkey with buttered corn and rice on the side. It looked delicious. And to be honest, Mary was hungry enough to eat anything.

Their table was set along the edge of the Great Cliffs which bordered the Great Black Forest, overlooking the ocean which raged quietly below. And the clear dusk sky bled yellow, orange and red from a beautiful sun set in the distant horizon. And the stars were faintly visible in the night sky.

Although they left Michael’s castle with too many questions left unresolved in their minds, at this moment, they cast away their confusion, and only focused on the moment, and each other. And Freddie and Mary ate their dinner in perfect comfort and happiness. Freddie shyly looked at Mary, and Mary blushed. She looked beautiful, Freddie thought. And Mary thought the same of Freddie. It felt all too perfect like a dream.

During their dinner, they began to converse about the strange events, and how it came to be that they were together again. For Mary was indeed channelled from her home through a Magical spell. She had been living in a world that could be likened unto as Heaven. A world in which the good and kind people came to rest after they had died. A world where people treated each other with love, and kindness, and there was no pain, or sorrow. And people never aged, or grew sick. They simply lived forever and ever in total bliss, love, and happiness. Freddie’s fate was different from Mary’s. He died, and was restored onto a world where there was still Good and Evil, but music and song held potent power here. Somehow, Michael had created a song that channeled Mary from her world into this one. But to what end, he wondered.

After they had finished their dinner, Freddie sang for Mary. Mary had always loved hearing Freddie sing, and he obliged, and gave her a private concert. He sang many old favorites, and new songs as well. And as he sang, beautiful and wonderful phantoms appeared in the sky like fireworks, dazzling Mary. Finally, the concert ended, and Freddie and Mary sat on the grass, by the campfire, holding each other, and looking up at the sky, which was now filled with many stars.

“That was wonderful Freddie. I wish I could sing. I was never musical at all.”

Freddie smiled, and said, “Try to Mary. Maybe you can sing.”

“No, I can’t. I’ve always sung off-key and death didn’t change that fact. Besides, I’d much rather listen to you sing. You were always so good.”

Freddie smiled, and laid next to Mary, both staring up at the night sky.

“Look up there Mary. Somewhere out there is your world. Your heaven. The place you described to me. It sounds so wonderful.”

“It was wonderful. Everyday was so full of happiness, and joy. And I don’t know how long I was there for but I was at peace.”

“Do you wish to return, Mary? It must be hard to dwell in another world again, where there is sadness, sickness, and tears.”

There was a brief silence, and then Mary said, “No beloved. I’ve been to heaven and I was happy. But I never forgot you. I looked for you there but I couldn’t find you. If there was a blot during my time there, it was that I couldn’t find you. And now you are here…”

Mary sounded confused, and bewildered. Everything felt so strange, and wonderful at the same time. She was there, and now, she was here.

“I’m happy to be with you Freddie. And this is whe

Chapter 5: Nightmare

Freddie opened his eyes and the first thing on his mind was Mary Austin. His heart thrilled joyfully with a song. She was alive! and back in his life. He turned and expected to see her but she was nowhere to be found. Around their make-shift camp, he saw signs of her but that didn’t comfort him one bit. Where is she, he wondered? He got up quickly and began to search for her.

“Mary!” he cried out. His calls grew louder and louder, and each time, with more desperation.

“Mary!”

But there was no reply.

Then in the far distance, he saw her. He could recognize her by her blonde hair. She was running for her dear life. She was pursued by a pack of wild dogs, and they were gaining on her quickly.

Freddie bolted after her. But he could tell he was too late.

When he arrived, the dogs were already on top of her. What he saw was grotesque. Her face was nearly ripped off, but weirdly, her mouth was fixed in a large toothless grin that looked like a black hole. She had no nose, and her eyes were empty sockets. And then she began to laugh as if something was very funny.

Mary pointed at Freddie, laughing hysterically.

Freddie didn’t understand the humor.

He was confused. Something didn’t seem right. It was then that Freddie realized he was dreaming. The grotesque face kept laughing at Freddie hideously.

Then the dogs ripped the rest of her face off. And then he saw the long black hair, and the skeletal face.

“Is something supposed to be funny?” Freddie asked angrily at the face.

“As a matter of fact, it is. You are very funny except you do not know it yet.”

Michael stood up and with a shrug, he brushed back the wild dogs, hurting them with his gaze.

The dogs retreated off into the distance, mortally wounded, howling in pain.

“Get out of my dreams, and stay out!” Freddie warned.

“Oh, not before I tell you what’s funny. You see dear Freddie. This is more than a dream. For it is prophecy. Your beloved Mary is in danger.”

“In the end, you have only one choice to make. And that is to kneel before me.”

“You are truly mad and insane. I will never kneel to you.”

As if answering, Michael suddenly lifted his arms, and grabbed Freddie’s head. Freddie tried to resist but Michael’s skeletal hands gripped him too hard. And then sudden knowledge hit Freddie like a train.

Freddie sank to his knees, and grunted in pain.

Thoughts and visions flooded into his mind. He saw everything. The Law of Fate which governed the universe, without which would cast the universe into chaos was broken. Mary Austin’s fate was to spend eternity in a Heavenly world, but she was channeled into a world that she did not belong in. Michael’s spell unnaturally bought her here, but it was Freddie who completed the spell. By breaking the protective crystal which suspended Mary between the two worlds, Freddie completed Michael’s spell, finishing her transformation into this world.

It was Freddie, not Michael who had completed the spell, breaking the universal Law of Fate. And such violations had deadly consequences.

Mary, who was not meant to live in a musical world, would soon fade, and disappear completely, existing in neither world.

Michael laughed triumphantly.

“Do you see the joke, friend? You have unwittingly doomed your lover. Your love song has killed her! HAHAHAHA!”

Freddie was stunned by what he saw.

“You have but one choice Freddie. I alone can send her back. But you must kneel before me, and hand over your power. With your powers combined with mine, I shall rule the universe!”

Freddie’s mind was still thinking about all that had been revealed unto him. It was true. He had fallen unwittingly into Michael’s trap. He had doomed Mary, and perhaps the universe itself.

Anger and rage filled Freddie’s mind. Blew into Freddie like a violent storm, and swelled until he exploded. He unleashed a bolt of rainbow that aimed to kill. But Michael shrugged it off, and his own power threw a counter blow. Freddie likewise shrugged it off and the two were soon battling fiercely.

“I will end you. Now. You’ve gone too far, Michael!”, Freddie yelled.

“I will end you, you bastard!!” Freddie screamed.

His powers rose exponentially with his rising rage. Freddie had had enough. Ever since he was translated into this world, he reflected on his former life. On his mistakes. On his extremes. And he saw the virtue of simplicity, and humility. Rather than remake this world into his pleasure garden, he sought to live quietly, and modestly. Life, he felt, was about learning from mistakes, and growing.

But no more. He had enough with humility. He was determined to seize upon his excesses once more and fully claim his power and rid this world of Michael Jackson.

With each blow leveled against Michael, Freddie grew stronger and more powerful. He was screaming at the top of his lungs, raging with passion. His power was more fierce than it had ever been. And after one last powerful bolt, Michael withered under the heavy assault, and retreated like a ghoul and disappeared.

But Freddie’s power did not subside. He was too angry, and too hurt. He reached out his power into the universe and shouted with power. He searched with his feelings, and he soon found it. He found Mary’s world. Her heaven. And in his dream state, he channeled his spirit into that plane, and at once, he was overcome with feelings of overwhelming peace, and joy, and love. This feeling almost quenched his power and rage. And he understood how happy Mary was in her heaven. And how painful in comparison it was to dwell here with him in this world.

He knew what he had to do. He had to send her back. He had to undo this mistake, and save Mary’s life.

Without understanding how, he intuitively formed a bridge between the two worlds. A gate into her heaven. And he called Mary, and she responded to his power. She entered his dream state, sharing his stream of consiousness.

“Mary!” Freddie pleaded. “You must go back! This was a mistake! You don’t belong here. You must go back!”

He was so full of power that at his insistence

Chapter 6: The Call

For a long time, neither one spoke. They just sat drenched in the open, listening to the rain drizzle down on them. They were soaked to their bones but the rain couldn't wash away their dark mood.

After some time, Mary spoke and pouted, "Some date you are, Freddie. I'm hungry and soaked. And no roses? Really Freddie. You must work harder than that to win my affection! I'm not that easy."

At that, Freddie snapped out of his depression, and smiled, "You're not that hard. And when I do win your affection, you may just end up madly falling in love with me!"

Mary rolled her eyes in mocking disgust at his arrogance and stuck out her tongue.

Freddie mimicked Mary, to which Mary made another face, this time funny and grotestque at the same time.

Freddie gave her an equally funny face, and a little dance. And both giggled out loud like children.

Their gloom lifted, and soon forgot about their troubles. Once again, they were simply two young adults in love, and carefree.

The rest of the morning, they shared a quiet breakfast, and began their way. Freddie needed answers, and there was only one place he knew that might help them.

Holding her hand lovingly, Freddie led her through the gray rain in search of answers.

* * *

Michael sat in his dark tower. He was in his laboratory, a room in which he did his experiments with song and magic. Around him were various corpses of people, and animals, failed experiments in his past attempts at creating and perverting life.

But today, he was performing another experiment. He peered into a large round disc filled with black water. In it, he saw the universe, and all the worlds that were contained in the void shone like little flames. Reaching out with his bony hands, he grabbed a particular flame, and squeezed it with his hand. The flames spread upwards to his arm, but didn't burn him. Instead, Michael sucked the fire out of that world, and he ate the world. In an instant, all the lives that existed in that world was snuffed out, and Michael feasted on the souls of the dead.

By doing so, Michael was growing more and more powerful. He was eating entire worlds as though the universe was his dinner plate. And there was nothing anyone could do to stop him. It was his intent to find all the Musical worlds, and drain them of their power, making him invincible.

* * *

A solitary figure peered through his telescope for hours. He was searching the universe for some signs, and after long hours, he finally gasped. He saw stars disappearing. For the past day, he had felt something strange happening, and he wanted to see for himself whether his feelings and intuition were correct. And tonight, what he saw confirmed his worst fears. Entire worlds were being destroyed, snuffed out.

Brian May closed his eyes, and sang a song. He was communicating through song, reaching out to all the other Singers on his world. The council needed to meet.

* * *

Roger Taylor was busy at the moment. He couldn't answer the call. He had a beautiful young blonde woman making bold demands on him. And he wasn't about to disappoint her. Not tonight. Maybe tomorrow. Right now, his attention was entirely upon this gorgeous sexy blonde girl of about 20 years and her incredibly perky and perfect bosom. With a quick flick, he unloosened the string, and garments fell. And his face broke open in a big smile. They were perfect. Um..Brian would just have to wait until tomorrow, Roger thought. What is more important than this? Roger wondered. And that was the last Roger thought of Brian for that night. He was busy doing something else.

* * *

John Deacon came out of his tent. He was camping out in a desert, and the night sky was gorgeous. John chose to live a quiet secluded life out in the desert with his gorgeous wife, away from people, and the council. He just wanted peace, and quiet, and perhaps raise a family. He had enough of the council. Bu
