Bad Company hasnt performed together since 1999 but this summer, theyll play a one-off show together at the Seminole Hard Rock Casino in Hollywood, Florida. Paul Rodgers spoke to Billboard saying, “Itll be great to see the guys and play and go back down that road again just for one night.”
We spoke to drummer Simon Kirke last year who seemed all for getting back together. “I feel pretty good about them. We had a great run, 30 odd years, very odd years. Im not saying were dead in the water yet. Theres always a chance well do another tour. Well see. I know Mick (Ralphs), the guitar player, wants to do something and Id like to, I dont mind. If the music is good and if we get on decently.”
As for why the one show, Rodgers explained, “What Im doing is protecting the legacy that we have built… By doing this one night stand with Bad Company, we will be cementing our right to the trademark Bad Company for touring, and anyone who attempts to challenge us and tour misusing our trademark and misleading the fans will be liable to legal action.” The show, whichll take place on August 8th, will be recorded for a DVD that will accompany a Bad Company compilation album set to hit shelves later this year. Dont expect more from the band though, Paul is busy working with Queen as well as on his solo career. Hes got a new album tentatively titled The Cosmos Rock due out this fall.
