Taken from the Daily Record, 18 January 2005:Queen may have snubbed Scotland on their first tour in 19 years, but guitarist Brian May has apologised and says there is a very good reason.
Queen's Scottish fans will have to wait a little longer to see the band because of singers' Paul Rodgers' commitments to tour the US, May said.
The band were unable to confirm dates in Scotland and ireland for their May tour because of the ex-Free singer's commitment with another of his former bands - Bad Company [Ed: Newspaper got this wrong. Bad Company are not touring just Paul + band].
May said, "because of Paul's prior commitments, which have to be honoured, we have at prsesnt had to hold off on what would have been the final part of our European tour - Scotland and Ireland.
"We are, of course, conscious that this a very important ommision, and we are hoping to put these gigs back in at a different time before too long."
According to fansite www.queenzone.com, Queen's tour will being at the already confirmed Brixton Academy, London, on March 28th, then tour France, Spain, Italy, Austria, Germany, Czech Republic, Belgium and Germany again before playing England and Wales in May.
