From this week's 'Herts Advertiser': 'Rock guitarist and Queen lynchpin Brian May took centre stage at the University of Herts on Friday to raise money for an Aids charity.Brian, who received an honourary doctorate from the university in 2002 in recognition of his lifelong contribution to music, was making his first return visit since the graduation ceremonies of that year.

He gave a talk about his early life and work before performing a selection of the songs which have seen him earn a place in rock history.

All proceeds from the evening went to the Mercury Phoenix Trust, a charity set up by the remaining members of Queen following the death of Freddie Mercury from an Aids-related illness.'
