Don't stop me now, it's Freddie For A Day fever! FFAD 2012 downloads are now available

Freddie For A Day fever is spreading and this year we hope to have people from even more countries take part. Flash mobs, school concerts, people at work with a moustache, there are all sorts of ways of taking part ranging from just donning a ‘tache to going the whole hog and spending the day out and about dressed as Freddie.

The 2012 downloads are now available in the Useful Downloads section. There you will find information on FFAD and the MPT, as well as posters, flyers, banners and logos that you can print off or use on your social networks to encourage others to sponsor you.

Last year’s FFAD highlights included moustachioed Japanese businessmen taking over Tokyo’s Shimbashi Station SL Square, a flash mob on the Buenos Aires metro, a UK carpenter dressed as Freddie on his building site complete with collection box, a Ukranian music student who gave an impromptu concert in the streets of Odessa and a German triathlon athlete who travelled to London to run a half marathon around Hyde Park in her ‘Break Free Freddie’ gear.

Freddie For A Day is fun, wacky initiative which ultimately aims to raise all important awareness about HIV/AIDS and funds for Mercury Phoenix Trust fighting AIDS worldwide. Over £200,000 were raised last year, and this year we hope to do even better.

So get out there, get your ‘taches, tshirts and Freddie regalia on. Get friends, family and colleagues to sponsor you by setting up a JustGiving page, or make a donation to the MPT via PayPal. If you are in the UK, you can contact co-ordinator Maureen Barclay to ask for an official MPT collection box.

If you don’t think parading as a fully suited and booted Freddie would go down well in your place of work, how about just printing a FFAD certificate from the Useful Downloads section and hang it off your desk together with a moustachioed jam jar to collect donations? You can print a few MPT leaflets so that you can inform your colleagues about what you are collecting for.

You can also throw a Freddie Party of course! Full details on the party packs and how to become a host click here!
