WE WILL ROCK YOU star Erica Peck returns to the Panasonic Theatre this Friday, May 29, for the final four weeks of the run.
Erica Peck returns to Toronto and WE WILL ROCK YOU after a 6 week leave-of-absence to star – to critical and audience acclaim – in the Manitoba Theatre Centre’s hit production of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Ben Elton’s new musical THE BOYS IN THE PHOTOGRAPH.
Erica made her professional stage debut as Scaramouche, the lippy heroine of WE WILL ROCK YOU, at Toronto’s Canon Theatre two and half years ago. What began as a limited seven-week engagement turned into an almost unstoppable juggernaut of entertainment that will have played 788 performances in two different theatres and been seen by an audience of one million by its final performance on June 28, 2009.
It has been an incredible experience for Erica, to star in the immensely popular, all-Canadian, Dora Award-winning WE WILL ROCK YOU – Toronto’s longest-running musical – after being discovered, an unknown, at an open casting call almost two and a half years ago!
Says Erica: “What an honor to now again be part of such a hugely popular success, a show that kick-started my career and made rock and roll part of Toronto’s live theatre scene. I’m so proud that I can finish what I began with my co-stars so many months ago. We’ve grown and learned together, now we’ll all tie this mother down for one more month!”
Erica will reprise her role as Mary McGuire when THE BOYS IN THE PHOTOGRAPH makes it Toronto debut at the Royal Alexandra Theatre from October 20 through November 29, 2009, replacing JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT in the 2009/2010 Mirvish Theatre Subscription Season.
