News > NI man wins international competition for ice cream giants

Added on 17-Apr-2007

A County Antrim financial adviser is hoping to rock the UK ice cream market with a flavour which could reign supreme on the supermarket shelves. Bohemian Raspberry caught the imagination of US ice cream giant, Ben and Jerry`s in a nationwide competition and is already a number one hit with the legendary rock band, Queen. The name of the ice cream, which combines vanilla, raspberry swirls and chocolate chunks, was dreamt up by Iain Johnston from Templepatrick and also by Londoner, Peter Gerstle in a nationwide competition. It follows in a long line of rock n`roll themed flavours from the company including the Grateful Dead tribute, Cherry Garcia, Phish food after the US band Phish and a previous winner of the competition, Glastonberry. Sales of the new flavour will boost
