NEW YORK -- It's not surprising that Panic! at the Disco hails from Las Vegas, the artifice capital of the Western world.

Playing the first of two shows at the Theater at Madison Square Garden Monday night, the six-piece outfit managed to cram about 40 minutes of music into a hour-long set. That hour included an intermission, two covers ("Killer Queen" and "Eleanor Rigby"), a drum line and six additional performers, who danced, did gymnastics and writhed suggestively between and during songs on a circus-like stage set.
