Queen Honored With 2 Ivor Novello Awards At 2005 CeremonyQueen Had The Prestigous honor of being presented with 2 Ivor Novello Awards at the 50th Gala occasion of the ceremony held Thursday May 26, 2005 in London, England at the Grosvenor House, Park Lane.

Queen was honored with their exceptional achievements in these 2 Major categories:

Oustanding Song Collection, for Queen being saluted by The Academy as the "Creator of a lifetime achievement of an outstanding body of work."

Song Of The Decade 1974-1985, for Bohemian Rhapsody which was voted by the public through the UK's most listened to radio station, BBC Radio 2. "Unique to this year as part of the 50th anniversary of the Ivors, Songs of the Decade was devised by the Academy as an attempt to find the most influential songs of the last 50 years. The voting criteria was considered to be the song's influence on other writers, it's originality and the effect it had on the time."

Brian May & Roger Taylor personally were on hand to graciously accept both Awards.

The Ivor Novello Awards is significant in that it is Britain's only award ceremony that pays special recognition and honor to songwriters. The Novello's honor Britain's finest in music artists in recognition of their achievements and influences as songwriters, musicians, and performers. International Awards are also presented in recognition of special achievements.
