Tickets for Queen in Sarajevo for only five euroAt the end of the year 2005 Sarajevo will host Queen, acording to Croatian newspaper Vecernji list (http://www.vecernji-list.hr/newsroom/scena/245629/index.do).
One of the organisers of the concert, a music producer Faruk Drina, has confirmed this for the newspaper. He said that the concert will be held between Christmas and New year and will feature Queen with Paul Rogers, the former Bad Company singer. It will definitely be the biggest rock event in Bosnia and Hercegovina since U2 in 1997.
But there is another great news- the tickets will be sold for only five euro. Queen concert, as well as many other concerts by British artists that are to be held this year in Sarajevo, will be financed by the European Union. The organisers have only to finance the bands' staying in Sarajevo. That's why the organisers have decided to offer the tickets for a symbolic price of five euro, to make them available to everyone. The whole idea came from the music editor on the Radio Free Europe, Brano Likic. He came up with a project in a cooperation with a London agency The Agency Group- said Faruk Drina. The project is called "Nostalgija".
This whole rock invasion on Sarajevo will start on June the 21 with Uriah Heep. The second concert will be held in August by Roxy Music and September will see Slade and The Hollies. The exact dates haven't been determined yet, but it is quite certain that Nasareth, Status Quo and Sweet will also perform in Sarajevo this or the next year.
The organisers have said that their goal is to offer Sarajevo some "urban spirit", since it is under a seige of tasteless pseudo-folk music every day.
