Brian May and Roger Taylor thrilled Queen fans on Wednesday night when they joined the cast of We Will Rock You at Toronto’s Canon Theatre.
The two remaining members of the legendary rock band – vocalist Freddie Mercury died in 1991 at the age of 45 and bassist John Deacon left the group in the late ‘90s – appeared on stage during “Bohemian Rhapsody.” They were then joined by the seven remaining competitors from Canadian Idol for a performance of “The Show Must Go On.”
Earlier in the day, May, 60, and Taylor, 58, taped workshop sessions with each of the Idol hopefuls for Monday’s episode.
“Roger and I were both surprised,” May said of the finalists. “They’re wonderful artists. I actually have to tell you that I have a different feeling about the Idol thing after this.
