US rock star Alice Cooper scooped the living legend award at the Classic Rock Roll of Honour event in London.Queen guitarist Brian May presented the 58-year-old with the gong. A painting of the rocker, valued at £50,000, was also given to him.
Queen won two awards - best reissue for their album A Night at the Opera and the classic songwriter award, collected by Brian May and Roger Taylor.
Def Leppard, Iron Maiden and the New York Dolls were also winners.
Def Leppard's Hysteria won the classic album award and the New York Dolls won comeback of the year, although they were not at the ceremony.
The award for album of the year went to Iron Maiden for A Matter of Life and Death, and the band's manager Rod Smallwood took home the VIP award.
