News > Queen Worked On Dennis Wilson Track

Added on 11-Jun-2008

When Beach Boy Dennis Wilson died 25 years ago, he left one of his tracks unfinished and now, Queen have helped the late musician out. Guitarist Brian May and drummer Roger Taylor worked the the unfinished song, “Holy Man” with Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins.May described the track: “Beautiful piano playing, wonderful spiritual feel, the whole track spoke to me like a poem and seemed to be steeped in the spirit of this mysterious man.” Brian went on to say, “I wanted to do my bit to realize it to the full. Roger loved it, too, added his voice to the harmonies and did some nice percussion so the whole thing now has a subtle Queen overtone.” The Queen assisted track, however, does not feature on the Pacific Ocean Blue re-issue. The producers went ahead and compiled the album with the Taylor Hawkins track, but it does not feature Brian or Roger. The version Queen perform on with Taylor Hawkins is called “The London Mix”, and does not appear the Pacific Ocean Blue album, but might come out at some point as a download. For more on this story see
