The Florentines Killer Queen, the Official Italian Queen Tribute band, that has been playing live since 1995 with over 500 sold out shows in the best Italian and European venues, will be on that renowned stage performing together with the brilliant star of the West End, the “Queen of the musical” Kerry Ellis.
Kerry Ellis is most known to Italian Queen fans for her role outstanding achievements in the London production of musical 'We Will Rock You'. Recently Kerry has reached a wider audience in Italy thanks to her fantastic performance in Sanremo next to Brian May, the legendary Queen guitar player.
The collaboration between Brian May and Kerry Ellis dates back to 2002. Brian was so impressed with her talent that he produced and played in Kerry Ellis’s first album 'Anthems', released in 2010 and which was followed by a successful in the UK tour in 2011. The New Year has begun in style for Kerry who recently won the 'What's On Stage Award 2012' in the category 'Best Solo Performance'.
This show in Florence will be a most appealing opportunity to see Kerry live in action and get to know better this talented and charming English artist. On this occasion Kerry Ellis will perform together with Killer Queen playing live some Queen historical hits as well as the tracks from the 'Anthems' album. There will also be some duets and a few surprises that will make this show highly emotional and unforgettable.
The idea of this collaboration was born by the artist’s own will who already expressed their mutual appreciation in the past and who, in the aftermath of their meeting in Sanremo, decided it was the right time to turn this potential idea into a solid project.
Killer Queen are used to taking on challenges like this. Many people still remember the magic show Killer Queen played on this same stage, about one year ago performing together a symphonic orchestra and also celebrating the full Innuendo album on it’s 20th anniversary release.
That night was a memorable and successful, with positive comments and feedback both from fans and from the media that led to the release of Killer Queen’s first DVD 'Live with Orchestra'.
Next 18th May thousands of Queen fans are expected to travel to Florence to give their warm welcome to Kerry Ellis on her very first Italian concert and to keep supporting Killer Queen and to enjoy a special show based on pure passion and unlimited love for music.
