SO JEST END, the satirical comedy that celebrates the West End’s most popular musical numbers, will host a special Gala Performance in aid of Theatre Mad and The Mercury Phoenix Trust on Thursday 23 April before a run at The New Players Theatre with an objective to make So Jest End one of the top comedy events for theatrical escapism in the capital.So Jest End is devised and directed by GARRY LAKE (currently playing ‘Pop’ in We Will Rock You).The show will be narrated by TV’s PAUL NICHOLAS, known to millions for his role as ‘Vince’ in Just Good Friends. The cast includes Rachel Tucker (BBC1’s I’d Do Anything), Jon Boydon (We Will Rock You), Louise Dearman (Evita), Ian Carlyle (We Will Rock You). Special guests to include Ian Kelsey (ITV1’s Emmerdale, Chicago) and Sandra Marvin (Hairspray). So Jest End is supporting TheatreMAD and The Mercury Phoenix Trust who will receive a donation of proceeds from this production. Formed by original founders and volunteers of West End Cares and Theatrecares, TheatreMAD is the theatre industry’s new independent charity established to support those people facing hardship as a result of HIV, AIDS and other long-term conditions.Mercury Phoenix Trust – Immediately after the death of Freddie Mercury from AIDS related causes in London on 24th November 1991, the remaining members of Queen and Jim Beach their manager took the decision to raise money and awareness about AIDS in his memory. So Jest End is pleased to announce their media partner for the show, has been named one of the top 100 websites in the world by Internet Magazine and the Daily Mail.
