Each year the ceremonies are shown live on the university's webcast. The ceremony will take place on July 19th. Visit the LMJU website for more details. "Brian May receives his Honorary Fellowship in recognition of his contribution to astronomy and the public understanding of science. Brian was an accomplished astronomy student at Imperial College, London when his music career with Queen took off. However his interest in the stars never waned and recently he co-authored 'Bang! The Complete History of the Universe' with Patrick Moore and Chris Lintott


These Fellowships are given in recognition of outstanding achievement by an individual in a given field or profession and to those who exemplify the LJMU ethos to 'dream, plan and achieve'
