News > "We Will Rock You" director Saul Swimmer died

Added on 21-Mar-2007

Saul Swimmer, director of three major films for the music industry, died March 3 2007. The Beatles "Let It Be" George Harrison's "Concert for Bangladesh" and Queen's "We Will Rock You" are Swimmer's best-known works. The last three years he's been working on a Bob Marley

film involving rare footage from a London vault. Swimmer, born in Uniontown PA in 1936, came from a family that once owned the Seven Springs Ski Resort, and began his career in the entertainment industry by hosting carnivals in his back yard, where admission (confirmed by my father-in-law!) was one bottlecap.
